Heisinger Bluffs Under New Ownership: Elevating Our Commitment to Excellence

As Heisinger Bluffs and St. Joseph's Neighborhood embark on their journey under new ownership, the future looks promising. Green Tree Health Care officially takes charge on October 1, marking the beginning of an exciting era for these esteemed facilities.

Maryanne Wallace, Communications and Marketing Executive Director for the current owner group, Lutheran Senior Services (LSS), shared that this transition follows years of strategic planning and evaluation by LSS. The decision was made to ensure a brighter future for both residents and staff.

Elazar Fischer, Green Tree's Director of Operations, emphasized that while LSS had primarily focused on assisted and independent living services, Green Tree brings a more comprehensive approach that includes skilled nursing care. He stated that his New Jersey-based group would provide a well-rounded expertise spanning both residential and nursing services.

One immediate goal for the new owners is to overcome a significant barrier. Currently, Heisinger Bluffs is not certified for Medicare, which necessitates transferring residents to St. Joseph in the event of certain medical needs. Green Tree intends to change that by obtaining Medicare certification for both facilities, allowing on-site care without transfers—a development welcomed by the facilities.

This certification will take effect promptly, ensuring that the new owners can start with a valuable improvement already in place.

Fischer expressed a commitment to retaining the existing staff at their current pay rates, recognizing their years of dedication. He emphasized their desire to honor the hard work and loyalty of the current team members.

In light of current staffing challenges across various industries, the team is exploring rate adjustments and incentives to attract new staff members, a testament to their dedication to providing the best care possible.

While Green Tree Health Care operates five skilled nursing facilities and two assisted living facilities, these operations mark their first foray into Missouri. They have aspirations to expand their presence in the region as opportunities arise.

The new ownership is eager to connect with the community and gather feedback for future improvements. Fischer emphasized the importance of tailoring services to meet the unique needs of each facility and community, building partnerships with local stakeholders to enhance the care they provide.

As they embark on this new chapter, Green Tree Health Care is honored and excited to continue the legacy of care and make meaningful improvements to benefit both residents and the community.
